Location
Guest Ratings & Reviews
The hotel offers very basic rooms with no outside seating area or space to relax, but some family rooms include a walk-through cupboard and separate bathroom. The lack of ventilation can make the room feel stuffy, and it's a bit of a walk from the reception. The service is mixed, with some staff being nice and helpful but others being intrusive. Dining options vary from excellent with a massive selection of food to nothing exceptional, and the facilities are decent overall.
I found the hotel to be a bit small for the price I paid, and I expected more considering what I've experienced in other places for the same price or less. The rooms only offer privacy when the curtains are closed, and they seemed a bit tightly packed. It was disappointing to see an advertisement on the same day promoting cheaper rates for VIPs, wondering why they didn't directly notify them via SMS.
The hotel rooms were noisy due to their proximity to the car park and generator, making the experience uncomfortable. The small rooms were not value for money, lacking amenities like a welcome gesture. However, the location close to Pilanesberg NP was convenient despite some unpleasant aspects.
The hotel was not the cleanest on arrival and during our stay, with a smell of cigarettes in the rooms, but they were comfortable and well-equipped. The service was mixed with delays in luggage assistance but quick and friendly interactions on-site. The location was convenient but marred by noise from a public walkway. The dining experience had a wide choice of foods, although some dishes were disappointing. The facilities were adequate for a comfortable stay.
The hotel has spacious rooms with picture windows, but some facing the public corridor lack privacy. The staff are helpful but the cleaning in the mornings is insufficient. Dining is excellent but can be pricey. A great location with a large pool, though cold in winter.
The hotel rooms have everything that you need and are very clean, with nice walking paths for entertainment, although a bit small. The location is superb, by the lake with watersports we enjoyed, but there are some ongoing renovations affecting dining options. The dining experience offers a variety of fresh foods, and the service is welcoming and helpful, though some improvement is needed in clearing tables.
The hotel rooms are fine, albeit a bit small and uncomfortable with two single beds for a room announced for 4 people. The facilities and services are satisfactory but could be improved with more space and comfortable bedding. While the location is fairly good with activities for children, the hotel lacks a few amenities to make the stay more enjoyable.
The hotel had very nice rooms but they were too small, with two single beds instead of a requested double on booking, making it feel a bit cramped. The rooms also had a slightly musky smell. On the bright side, the service was excellent, although some staff members were unhelpful and unfriendly. The location was subject to cleanliness issues, being tidied only in the mornings, but the proximity to the Valley of the Waves was fantastic. The dining experience, aside from a wide range of dietary requirements, had some organizational issues causing long wait times. Despite these drawbacks, the facilities were adequate for the stay.
The hotel rooms are dated and certainly not in optimal working order, with many issues such as the bathroom area missing its screen. Checking out on Sunday was disappointing due to poor room service and uncomfortable rooms; however, the location offers enough activities for children in a safe environment.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were a bit small for the price, and I encountered some unwelcome guests in the form of cockroaches. On the bright side, the staff members I interacted with were exceptional. The location was beautiful but seemed to lack the charm of the past. The dining experience fell short, with poor quality offerings and disorganization. Overall, it was a mix of good and not-so-good experiences.
